Handcrafted Jewelry by Deb.
Soldering or fusing metal jewelry is a challenge in a small space. Flames, chemicals, fumes, oh my. But the results are worth it. Someday I’ll have room for a full scale jeweler’s bench!
I work mainly with natural materials such as leather, hemp, silk, wood, sterling silver, copper, semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, and Swarovski crystals. I only use top quality gems and either Czech glass, Toho or Delica seed beads in my beaded work.
I sometimes use re-purposed or vintage when I fall in love w/something.

Forging metal takes quite a bit if hardware. Lots of hammers, forms, etc to get just the right look. -Oh, and lots of practice :D
Keeping things organized is always a challenge. Lots of creative storage space is needed!
I work mainly in sterling silver and copper, but occasionally work with fine silver, gold filled, vermeil, & brass or bronze.
Some of my favorite tools!
Jewelry making requires lots of tools, usually of the pointy, sharp, have a box of bandaids ready variety!
Bead weaving doesn’t require as many tools, just lots and lots of patience, and again, lots of storage space.
I always love to see “behind the scenes” of anything. It makes it a little more personal, a lot more interesting, and a lot more “Wow, so that’s how they do that!” :D
– So here’s a little “behind the scenes” of my studio, hope you find it interesting!
